Prime 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville
2018 Prime Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville, Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score: 94 Points
NVWE Notes: Rich and rounded, showcasing the classic Coombsville profile, the nose of this already satisfying yet age-worthy bottling offers a plush harmony of mulberry, blueberry and blackberry scents that get savory support from clove, cedar, licorice root and vanilla pipe tobacco. In the mouth, fine zest and deep yet polished tannins bring a firming counterpoint to juicy flavors of blue and black fruits, violet, star anise and dark earth. Lingering, generous and already delicious, the finish is creamy and notably food-balanced. Those with cellars can expect another two to four years of positive evolution. Blended with 5% Merlot, 859 cases produced.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville sports a deep garnet-purple color. It bursts from the glass with vibrant notes of crushed black berries, black raspberries and ripe black currants, plus suggestions of chocolate mint, cardamom, fragrant earth and dried lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly wound and chock-full of freshness and mineral sparks, framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing long with great purity. I love, love, love this bright, refreshing, emerging new taste of Napa! Drink Date 2020 - 2040. Lisa Perrotti-Brown 22nd Oct 2020
