This gutsy bottling opens with piquant, focused aromas of pomegranate, red currant and Asian plum sauce that rise above a background of tobacco and baking spice. It is more impressive on the palate, where forthcoming black currant, dark boysenberry, pomegranate syrup, black fig and red rose flavors harmonize with others of cedar and baking spice above a backdrop of hard minerality. The finish is juicy and lingering and carries the zest to counter-balance Braised Short Ribs, Prime Rib and other extravagant beef entrees. It will improve for at least three more years. 560 cases produced.
