Peirson Meyer Pinots love age and their classy 2016 is evolving beautifully. The nose poises elegant accents of hazelnut nougat, baking spice, nutmeg and sweet tobacco leaf in support of concentrated cranberry, red cherry, pomegranate and whortleberry fruit scents. Things are more expressive on the palate, where sweet red cherry, pomegranate syrup and sweet pickled crab apple flavors dominate. In the mouth, the texture is lean and the flavors stay focused through a long, classy finish that grows more sweet-natured with airing. A delicious dinner wine now, it will grow even more enticing over the next few years. 150 cases produced.
