This is a wine of many seeming contradictions but of classy harmony. Vibrant, minerally, deep in character and complex, it elevates razor-focused aromas of dark cherry, boysenberry, cranberry, violet and blood orange above suggestions of iron and mineral salts. It has racy elegance, yet seems gutsy and delivers finely chiseled minerality on the palate. In the mouth it showcases all the flavor notes promised by the aromas, yet with more expression and clarity and great length. A very fine dinner wine already, it is certain to be even better in three years or so. 516 cases produced.
