Zotovich always produces a complex and distinctive Pinot, but in 2022 it seams at a peak of perfection. The nose is a racy, yet forthcoming panorama of cranberry, sour red cherry, cherry pit, Campari, grenadine, blood orange peel, baking spice, canela, hazelnut and sweet tobacco scents that are poised above saline minerality. It proves as bright, complex and as vividly fruity as hoped on the palate, where zest, savory spice and minerality underpin a layered, extremely long and food worthy finish that gains further depth from notes of Campari and panetone. Tremendously impressive already, it should be truly terrific in another year or two. 114 cases produced.
