If youthfully reserved, the aromas of this genteel bottling unfold as a medley of sweet apple and peach poised above a more subtle background of quince, nectarine, vanilla and toasted meringue. It is as genteel in texture as expected yet more forthcoming on the palate where apple, Asian pear, quince and a hint of white peach marry vanilla, mace and baking-spice undercurrents to find harmony. Elegant to the end of its lingering finish, it should grow more lovely over the next two or three years.
