Paul Hobbs Chardonnay Ellen Lane Vineyard, Russian River Valley 2018   

NVWE Notes: This is a rich and notably classy Chardonnay with a future. The nose is an elegantly creamy-zesty harmony of white peach galette, nectarine, spiced fresh apple, dried golden fig, citron, nutmeg, nougat and vanilla cream pie scents. In the mouth, it proves both lush in texture and intense in flavors which beautifully mirror the nose. The finish is youthful, yet quite polished, and the lingering peach nectarine, citron and pie crust end at the end is nicely balanced by lemony zest and mineral undercurrents. Worthy of fine cuisine already, it should grow more refined for another two or three years.
