Patine 2022 Pinot Noir Soberanes
2022 Patiné Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 97 Points
If still a hint youthfully reserved in it’s fruit expression, this is nevertheless an immediately attractive and sophisticated Pinot Noir. It opens with a focused mix of boysenberry, sour dark cherry, pomegranate, sweet tobacco leaf, pink peppercorn, licorice root and hazelnut nougat scents. It is very generous on the palate, if currently a bit prominent in savory notes. It opens on the palate with rich flavors of toffee, toasted hazelnut, coffee bean, bresaola and dark earthy spice, while the more coiled notes on dark cherry, boysenberry and pomegranate molasses begin to dominate as the wine airs. There is balancing zest at the lingering finish, which is a bit youthfully gripping. Expect another two or three years of steady development to result in a truly sumptuous Pinot Noir that will stand up to the richest cuisine. 75 cases produced.
