Exotic and distinctive, from a vineyard located 1.2 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this is a fascinating Pinot Noir. The nose centers on bright black cherry, black raspberry and sarsparilla aromas, accented by notes of dried herbs and sweet baking spice, brightened by zest, and underpinned by a streak of saline minerality. It is surprisingly well evolved considering its youth, and delivers immediately attractive flavors of boysenberry, black cherry, sarsparilla, sassafras, cardamom, dried flowers, dried herbs and baking spices. The finish is long, fruity-spicy and mineral dry. If delicious now, it will surely grow in depth over the next 24 months and should already prove a versatile dinner companion. 72 cases produced.
