This beauty delivers all that could be asked for in a maturing Tawny Port. The aromas are surprisingly refined and carry no suggestion of spirit, as the nose pushes-forth a plush mix of dried golden fig, date and honey-drenched walnut scents married to sweetly dried orange and lemon peel notes of equal intensity. On the palate the wine proves as richly textured as expected and the flavors of dried golden fig, creme brulee, baklava, maroon glacé, Persian raisin and candied orange peel roll out with a note of cherry liqueur joining-in at the finish. That remarkable finish easily lingers for five minutes and beyond.
