Honeyed nut, tangerine peel and baked apple aromas show on the nose of this bottling. A zesty acidity enlivens the palate from front to back, carrying toasty flavors of pan-seared apple, cashew, sea salt and white flower. MATT KETTMANN 11/1/2021

This is a highly successful yet unusual vintage for Mount Eden. The nose offers counterpoints of honey-drenched nuts and chalky minerality in tandem with opulently ripe flavors of spiced golden apple, dried golden mulberry, guava, lemon candy and a subtle suggestion of fresh herbs. It is as luxurious on the palate as expected and airing brings all the fruit notes onto center-stage. Very long and surprisingly plump for this Estate bottling, it is attractive now and is likely to be even better in two years.
