Our Notes: Youthfully reserved at first opening yet densely fruit and spice packed, the nose of this terrific Pinot layers aromas of sweet red cherry, lingonberry, grenadine, mock orange, pink rose, toffee and baking-spice upon a rich undercurrent of mushroomy, forest-floor scents. The confluence of tongue-coating texture, piquant fruit zest and firming tannins creates an impression of tension which carries through a very long finish where the push of sweet cherry pie, cherry pit, whortleberry, grenadine, pink rose, toffee, dried herb and forest mushroom never flags. If several years from its peak, it is altogether appealing right now.

This wine starts with aromas of pine needle and tarragon, with joyous bowlfuls of ripe yet snappy raspberry and cherry chiming in. Herbal elegance shines throughout the sip, giving eucalyptus-like depth to the juicy red-fruit flavors. Matt Kettman 7/1/2021
