This notably age-worthy Cabernet poises concentrated, youthfully reserved aromas of red currant jelly, dark sour cherry, Bing cherry galette, dried cranberry and pomegranate above a background of cedar, mace, clove, baking-spice and peppercorn. It is gutsy and gripping yet polished on the palate, where currant, sour red cherry, cranberry sauce, red rose, cinnamon stick, toasted cedar and mace flavors rise above a firm mineral undercurrent. The lingering finish does much to suppress what are clearly substantial tannins. Built for Prime Rib and the like at this point, it will grow in dimension for the next six to ten years. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon with a 5% mix of Cabernet Franc, Merlot & Petite Verdot.
