This nose of this delicious wine is forthcoming and extraordinarily complex, as scents of baklava, mineral salt, celery seed, toasted walnut, dried golden fig, golden mulberry, dried orange peel and toasted meringue each vie for attention while achieving a seductive harmony. All of the hoped for aromatic elements find a home on the palate, where saline minerality creates a near-dry impression for the otherwise sweet-natured, endlessly lingering fruit. Terrific by itself, it would be a splendid foil to a plate of toasted walnuts, dried apricots and fresh figs.
