2018 Lynmar Pinot Noir Quail Hill Russian River Valley
NVWE Notes: Full and rich if a bit reserved at opening, the nose of this fine Pinot layers sweet-savory scents of vanilla, toffee, tobacco leaf, baking-spice, sumac berry and a hint of pink peppercorn onto a tighter core of dark cherry, sour red cherry, bottled red cherry, dried raspberry and red rose. The savory elements seem much the same on the palate, where the texture proves generous while the fruit proves more intense,  focused and piquant . The flavors are polished and impressively long and the wine finishes with a flashy strain of sour red cherry, red raspberry, star anise and nutmeg. This beauty should be substantially more developed later this year and truly gorgeous in another two. 2603 cases produced.
