Racy and precise, with both zest and minerality contributing to the style, this Chardonnay offers scents of baked apple, golden berry, dried golden mulberry, Meyer lemon, mace and honey above a background of slate-like minerality. It is lean in texture and still a bit tightly-wrapped in the mouth, where the flavors are concentrated and extremely long. On the palate those flavors fan out as a focused medley of white peach, dried apricot, dried green apple, orange peel, honey, coriander seed and mace, all firmed by slate undercurrents. A delicious dinner wine now, especially with seafoods, it will be better still in twelve to eighteen months. 875 cases produced.
