Lobo 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
2018 Lobo Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak, Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 93 Points
Contrasting 2018 vintage richness and Atlas Peak minerality, this is a wine built for darkly roasted meats. The nose opens with scents of dark cherry, red cherry, black currant and blueberry which rise above slightly dusty suggestions of black peppercorn, black tea leaf, sandalwood, graphite and charcoal. Minerality and mountain tannins are notable yet not intrusive on the palate, where mulberry, black currant, black fig, sandalwood, toffee and mint flavors fan-out. The finish is gutsy and lingering and the wine will need three or four years of cellar time to truly reveal all of its virtues. 310 cases produced.
