This Cabernet is a gorgeous expression of both its terrific vintage and of the personality of Lewis’ signature bottling. The aromas are a complex, ripe, focused and seductively oaky medley of dark cherry, black currant, mulberry, plum sauce, mocha, hazelnut nougat, sweet tobacco, baking spice and star anise. On the palate the gutsy character of the 2021 vintage is easily eclipsed by the fruity richness of flavors that are a forthcoming mirror of everything the aromas predict. The wine's pleasures unfold quickly as it airs, and the result is a polished, lingering, amply flavorful finish that already promises a fine dining experience. Expect five years of steady improvement and a long life.
