Lerner 2019 Cabernet Project 18
2019 Lerner Project Cabernet Sauvignon Project 18 Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 96 Points
Deep and notably elegant, the nose of this seductive Cabernet offers vivid, forthcoming aromas of blackberry and black currant with background scents of dark sweet cherry, violet, cedar, hazelnut and baking spice above a subtly earthly background. On the palate it is sleek in texture and so polished that its tannin is an afterthought. The flavors are a supple wave of blueberry, dark cherry and cassis counterpointed by mace, cedar, baking spice, tobacco leaf and some crushed rock minerality. Racy and Margaux-like, the finish is impressively long and the wine is delicious already. Expect at least three years of steady improvement. 1200 cases produced.
