Latour 2018 Corton Charlemagne
2018 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne
Fresh and fruity, with aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, white flowers and stone, showing great tension and an underlying mineral component that gives this energy and length. The lemon theme continues on the lingering aftertaste, along with butter and pastry accents. Best from 2022 through 2029. 2,702 cases made, 1,200 cases imported. BS Jul 31, 2021
2018 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Burgundy
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 98 Points
This is textbook Latour Corton-Charlamagne, tightly focused and weighty yet lean from the start. The nose is centered on highly concentrated yet tightly-wound scents of spiced golden apple, white peach galette, Meyer lemon tart, biscuit, dried white flower, hazelnut, nutmeg, coriander seed and baking-spice tied to chalky-flinty counterpoints. All of these elements are replicated on the palate where they linger in an ultra-racy package. Brilliant dinner wine already, it will grow ever more exciting over the next ten years.
