Classy and notably elegant if still youthful, the nose of this Burgundy offers scents of red cherry galette, dry red fruits, red apple skin, hazelnut and mineral notes above a denser core of dark cherry and five-spice. Palate-coating yet sleek and firm, the flavors are lead by cherry pit, Italian Maraschino cherry, dried red plum, mace, five-spice, crushed rock and forest mushroom undercurrents. Lean, racy, gripping and long, it is four years from its full expression but is already a delicious dinner wine.
