Notes of cassis, baked plums and boysenberries waft from the glass, followed by hints of dusty soil, Indian spices and wild sage. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers bright, fresh, youthful fruit with a grainy texture and spicy lift on the finish.

The nose offers a perfume of ripe cherry, cassis, pomegranate, violet, dried rosemary, laurel, black licorice, molasses and graphite. This impression carries through a long, food worthy finish that should offer a perfect counterpoint to fatty, caramelized meats.
