NVWE Notes: If clearly Moon Mountain-esque is its dark undercurrents of graphite, charcoal and forest-floor spice, this wine shows the fruity elegance of its vintage even more authoritatively. The aromas are a fruit-dominant perfume lead by sweet purple plum and mulberry, over a background of black raspberry, sour dark cherry, violet and savory spice. It is flashier and just as fruit-centric on the palate, where flavors of black raspberry, black currant, sour red cherry and violet take center stage before dark forest-floor and graphite undercurrents. The finish is very long and beautifully balanced by zest and minerality, so the package is notably food-worthy. Certain to improve for several years, this one is quite delicious upon release. 630 cases produced.
