Much a 2013 in it’s combination of structure and youthful vitality, this complex and altogether appealing Meritage fans-out a perfume of sweet dark plum, dark cherry galette, blackberry cobbler, bitter chocolate, graphite, bay leaf and forest earth scents. It is medium-bodied and immediately attractive on the palate, with good zest and a silky texture in support of plum, cherry and mulberry flavors in perfect harmony with undercurrents of mulling-spice, mace, cedar, cocoa nibs, licorice root, bay leaf and a hint peppered bouillon. The flavors never flag and superb dinner balance frames everything in nicely. It will provide great pleasure for the next several years and likely beyond. A blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petite Verdot, 20% Merlot, 17% Malbec & 13% Cabernet Franc. 200 cases produced.
