This young Pinot comes with some drama: as elegance, plush fruit and a gutsy, structured mouth feel create an impression of scale. The nose elevates scents of sweet dark plum, red boysenberry, blueberry, black raspberry and violet above undercurrents of baking spice and earth. It is tongue coating, plush, piquant and lingering on the palate, where the same medley of red and blue fruits comes on strong and lingers, with the addition of cherry pit and red apple skin contrast. It needs some airing, yet delivers lots of pretty flavors when decanted. Expect another few years of steady improvement. 175 cases produced.
