The nose of this engaging and slightly exotic Chardonnay unfolds quickly to reveal aromas of sweet golden apple, dried Calimyrna fig, guava, pineapple core and chamomile, with background suggestions of tahini, toasted meringue and vanilla wafer. It offers a firm yet delightfully supple and palate-coating texture in the mouth, where the aromatic panorama is reprised, but in a more youthfully coiled rendition. The finish is long, piquantly fresh and dinner-worthy, and there is a general impression of scale. If lovely now, it should be really terrific within eighteen months. 125 cases produced.
