This fine Pinot showcases Petaluma Gap’s aromatic spice in its combination of blue and red fruits graced with a hint of orange. The nose is focused on black raspberry and black cherry freshened by notes of lingonberry, grenadine and orange zest and made richer by others of baking spice, mace and hazelnut nougat. On the palate it proves impressive in body yet the texture is turned racy by a hint of citric zest that perks otherwise tongue-coating flavors centered on blueberry, boysenberry, lingonberry, orange peel, baking spice and nougat. While fresh, complex and mineral accented, the finish stands out primarily for its impressive length. Expect another twelve to eighteen months of steady growth leading toward a graceful maturity. Organically farmed, 418 cases produced.
