Kazumi 2024 Koshu Napa Valley
2024 Kazumi Koshu Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 94 Points
Kazumi has offered California’s first and only presentation of Japan’s signature grape and the 2024 is once again a notable success. Notes of lemon blossom, lavender and honeysuckle introduce the nose, where vibrant zest and subtle minerality underpin fruit notes of white peach, quince and sweet apple. It is as bright and food-worthy as expected on the palate, where fresh lemon, key lime and a hint of orange zest rise above sea shell minerality to counterpoint developing flavors of orange honeydew melon, apple and suggestions of rambutan or star fruit. These flavors grow to become more forthcoming as the wine airs and they flesh-out a very long and refreshing finish where dryness is accentuated by chalky notes. A lovely companion to seafood, it will prove a terrific summer refresher as well.
