This wonderfully graceful rendering of fine Napa Cabernet is from a vineyard best known for a more gutsy, rustic character. The nose is a lovely, focused medley of sweet cherry pie, red currant jam, cranberry sauce, sweet tobacco, baking spice, vanilla and licorice root scents. The wine brings that same focus and polish to its flavors as well, with a rich yet delightful harmony of the same fruity and savory elements. The lingering finish holds cherry, currant and cranberry at center stage, while the tannins are never less than polished. It is delicious already, yet those with cellars can expect another two to four years of steady evolution. 120 cases produced.
