2000 Kalin Cotes de Beaune “Les Pierres Blanches Burgundy

Fully mature, this elegant Burgundy offers a subtly creamy bouquet suggestive of dried red cherry, golden fig, date, sandalwood and toffee, with a background suggestion of sweet forest mushrooms. It is firm and rather dryer seeming on the palate, where dried cherry, fig and mineral undercurrents rise above hints of toffee and licorice root. These flavors linger well, adding a fruitcake-like note at the end.
