Elegantly focused, notably soft-edged and forthcoming, the aromas of this classy Rhone mix center on cranberry, dark cherry, red plum, pink peppercorn and black tea leaf, along with dark mineral undercurrents and a hint of tomato stem. Cherry, cranberry and pink peppercorn take center stage on the palate, where firming minerality and a bit of tannin bring a suggestion of leanness to a supple texture that carries through its long finish. It should prove a notably fine dinner wine of great versatility. A blend of 25% each of Carignane, Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah.
