This is a rich, forthcoming wine that offers an engaging aromatic combination of plump fruits and spices with mineral support. The nose is a creamy melange of dark cherry galette, baked raspberry and plum compote in harmony with scents of pink peppercorn, toffee and dried herbs above earthy-minerally undercurrents. The impressions are brighter and more youthful on the palate as piquant notes of cherry pit and red apple skin team with tannic grip to freshen and firm the wines core of dark cherry, plum, black raspberry and strawberry preserves. The beautifully balanced finish lingers seductively, so current drinking is no sin, although the patient will see a more classic Burgundy in another two years or so.
