This is a Burgundy of vibrant freshness and sharp-edged intensity, a bottling where old vines elevate it well beyond its seemingly humble appellation status. Piquant zest, flinty minerality and flavors of fresh apple skin, apple sauce, quince, golden fig, honey and Meyer lermon fan out in chiseled focus on the mid-palate. The finish is notably youthful and ultra long, and has equal contributions  of honeyed creaminess, bitter-sweet apple core notes and slate mineral tones which work to frame-in in the texture as well as the flavors. The lasting memory is of baked apple, golden fig, quince, grilled grapefruit. lemon zest, honey and slate flavors. If a brilliant food wine it is an equally fine sipper that will be gorgeous over the next four years and likely well beyond.
