With it's deep purple color and iron constitution, this is a classic Grigsby Cabernet. The aromas are a gutsy, focused and forthcoming mix of blackberry, black currant, purple plum, violet pastille, dark pipe tobacco and graphite scents. It is ripe, focused and powerful on the palate, with flavors that are a vivid, youthful mirror of the nose: all of this is given backbone by gripping tannins. The finish is notably long and is food-balance already, so it should already prove a great companion to Prime Rib and the like. It is certain to have five years of further positive evolution at minimum. 50 cases produced.
