This is a rarely seen yet celebrated wine that is built along the lines of a classic Rhone Red blend. Firm, rich and obviously youthful, the aromas are a mix of black raspberry, dark cherry, sour red cherry, pomegranate molasses, dried black fig, peppery bouillon and licorice root, with undercurrents of chocolate-covered orange. It is just as complex and appealing on the mid-palate, but more youthful, more intense, more focused and quite long, delivering a push of red fruit and blood orange at the end. It should get better for at least another four years. A blend of 40% Syrah, 40% Mourvedre, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Counties.
