This rich and tasty wine has a deeply-etched black pepper and black raspberry nose, with well concentrated scents of dried black cherry, roasted beet, dark earthy spice and a hint of licorice root as undercurrents. It is boldly rich, ripe and somewhat gripping on the palate, where piquant zest, deeply expressive cherry and black raspberry fruit and a notable mineral backdrop create a vividly dinner worthy mix. Quite long and built for barbecued meats, it is a fine, likely age-worthy Zinfandel blend at a very fair price. 80% Zinfandel from Bedrock Vineyard, blended with 5% Barbera and 15% Alicante Bouschet. 1000 cases produced.
