Bright and gutsy, forthcoming and focused, the aromas of this dinner-balanced Cabernet center on red plum, boysenberry, sour red cherry, canela, black tea, baking spice and vanilla scents. Although youthful, it is well developed and shows polished winemaking. The wine has firming tannins but these are countered by loads of piquant fruit that becomes more defined and generous as the wine airs. The diverse elements harmonize to create a Cabernet seemingly built for service with Prime Rib or grilled steak, as although the finish is fruit packed it cuts across the palate sharp and clean. This bargain bottling may be softer in another eighteen months or so, but it is truly food-worthy right now. 151 cases produced.
