If a bit slow to emerge, the nose of this elegantly styled Pinot Noir offers aromas of sweet red cherry, boysenberry and black raspberry tied to accents of mace and star anise, these all rising above a deeper core of sweet strawberry. It is medium-bodied and considerably more expressive on the palate, where red raspberry, black cherry and lingonberry flavors harmonize with savory notes of hazelnut nougat, star anise, mace and baking spice to mostly submerge its mineral and tannin undercurrents. The finish is lingering and well defined if still clearly youthful. A delicious dinner wine already, it will reward those those who can cellar it for another two years or so. 181 cases made.
