This rich Pinot offers textbook "Brousseau" earthiness while smothering it with ample fruit, as its aromas of black raspberry, dark sour cherry, cranberry sauce, red rose petal, pink peppercorn, mace, and hazelnut are well concentrated. That fruit is focused and piquantly fresh on the palate, where star anise and nutmeg bring sweet-savoury counterpoints to an emerging core of black raspberry. The finish is subtly gripping, extremely long and this already food-worthy bottling is sure to improve for another two more years. Brousseau vineyard is organically farmed.
