This is a ripe, complex Pinot Noir with fine aromatics and a weighty mouth-feel. The nose delivers well evolved scents of dark cherry, dark boysenberry, plum compote, dark toffee, Boston Brown Bread, baking spice and nutmeg scents. It proves as plush as expected in the mouth, where notes of five spice and mocha support core flavors of dark cherry and Santa Rosa plum galette. The finish is generous and quite long, and it delivers a seamless medley of ripe fruit and sweet, savory spice. It should show even more beautifully in another twelve to eighteen months. 440 cases produced.
