NVWE Notes: Buoyantly fruity and altogether flashy, the nose of this stunning Pinot fans-out as a focused rush of red and black raspberry, Italian Maraschino cherry, black cherry, pomegranate syrup and blood orange, underscored by earthy-minerally hints and sweet-savory spice notes that include dried dark rose, sumac berry, mace and baking-spice. Piquant freshness and polished tannins bring structure on the palate, but fail to blunt the wave of luxurious fruit and spice that carries through a memorably long finish where red boysenberry, red currant, pomegranate, cherry pit, blood orange, pink rose, coriander seed, black tea, graphite and forest-floor spice are all visible. Wonderful as it already is, it is certainly four or five years from its full expression. 598 cases produced.
