This Pinot Noir, if clearly youthful, offers distinctive, focused fruit that is balanced for food service and age-worthy. The nose centers on aromas of cranberry sauce, red raspberry and pomegranate, with chalky mineral notes and salinity as counterpoint along with savory suggestions of cherry pit, pink peppercorn and star anise. On the palate, the wine delivers impressive zest, polished tannin and chalky mineral notes to frame-in the fresh pomegranate, raspberry and cherry pit fruit and vivid spice. The finish is racy and lingering and the wine has the concentration and balance of a fine vintage. Expect another two years or more of positive evolution. 97 cases produced.
