Ehlers 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Leducq
2021 Ehlers Cabernet Sauvignon Estate “Jean Luducq” St Helena, Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 96 Points
This immediately attractive Cabernet opens with aromas of blackberry, black currant, cassis, licorice root, tobacco, dried herbs and baking spice in fine harmony, despite the wine’s obvious youth. It is surprisingly supple in the mouth and full of charm, as the texture is generous and the tannins polished, so the pretty berry and spice flavor mix becomes more enchanting as airing helps the wine fully unfold. The lasting memory is of blackberry, black currant and licorice flavors. The finish is dinner balanced and never less than appealing, although things will surely grow even more so if the wine spends a few more years in the cellar. 600 cases produced.
