Wonderfully generous if notably bright, the aromas of this terrific and clearly age-worthy Chardonnay immediately push-forth a focused harmony of yellow peach, baked apple, coconut cream, hazelnut nougat, baking spice, custard and pie crust scents. In the mouth it proves palate-coating and buoyantly rich in texture, and it showcases classic fruit expression, pretty oak spice and emerging tropical suggestions, while adding orange peel and toasted pine nut flavors to a more youthfully coiled rendering of all the elements promised in the nose. The finish is very long and in all aspects satisfying and the wine is uplifted at the end by vibrant zest. Already delicious, this beauty is sure to be considerably better if allowed another two years in the cellar. From a densely spaced vineyard planted to the Mount Eden Clone. 800 case produced.
