Drinkward Peschon Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2017
NVWE Notes: This bottling invariably ages well, yet for near-on twenty years it has been teriffic at release, and the 2017 follows this well-trodden path. The nose is a sweet-savory perfume of blackberry, blueberry, Asian plum sauce, violet, licorice root, mocha, cedar, mace, clove and dark pipe tobacco scents. The fruit is a tad more coiled, zesty and mineral-laced on the palate, where the the tannins are beautifully polished and the mouth-feel is as plush as could be hoped for. The mid-palate flavors evolve quickly with airing, to fan-out as a palate-coating, lingering mirror of the nose. Satisfying all the way, this beauty will continue to grow in appeal for years to come. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 610 cases produced.
