This is a youthful yet already complex wine that grows in depth and dimension as it airs. The aromas unfold as a medley of red raspberry, strawberry jam, plum galette, dark sour cherry, red rose petal, sumac berry, pink peppercorn and canela scents. It is polished and gently tannic on the palate, with quietly piquant flavors led by cherry pit, red raspberry, strawberry and “red vines” licorice, counter-pointed by others of sumac berry, mace and pink peppercorn. Everything lingers and the combination is food-balanced. It should improve for at least the next eighteen months and possibly beyond. A blend of 65% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, 15% Carignane and 5% Grenache, 500 cases produced.
