Surprisingly firm and gutsy, yet forthcoming, the nose of clearly this age-worthy bottling poises aromas of blueberry jam, violet and bottled Amarena cherry above a background of wintry spice, sandalwood and hazelnut nougat. It is notably youthful and attractively zesty on the mid-palate and through a racy, lingering, food-worthy finish that shows some tannin, yet has all the expected flavors in attendance.
