Creamy, forthcoming and attractively mature, the bouquet of this wine offers harmonious aromas suggestive of Tawny Port, milled mahagony, dark sweet tobacco, dried herbs and forest floor scents uplifted by fruit tones of baked black fig, Medjool dates, Cherry Boune liqueur, dark pulm galette, star anise and cardamom. It is palate-coating yet still appealingly zesty in the mouth, where flavors that mirror the nose carry through a lingering finish where notes of dark cherry, fig, dark tobacco and licorice root are prominent. If delicious and enjoyable by itself, it is built for service with rich meat stews, ragouts and tomato sauce-based entrees. Made with zero filtration, this bottling wants decanting or careful pouring so that its sediment does not invade the glass. A blend of Garnatxa (Grenache), Samso (Cabernet Franc), Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon, 878 cases made.
