This Cab is both focused and distinctive as 2019 has proven an outstanding vintage for this always reliable bottling. The nose delivers blueberry, sour dark cherry, black raspberry and pomegranate fruits in high relief, with notes of vanilla, toffee, dark pipe tobacco and dark earth in support. Flavors of blueberry and black raspberry dominate on the palate, with notable contrasts of graphite, dried herbs and damp forest notes. The tannins are substantial yet are so polished that at no time do they challenge the mid-palate fruit and the lingering finish. Delicious already, it is likely five years from its full expression.
