Chalone 2019 Pinot Noir
2019 Chalone Pinot Noir “Estate” Chalone District
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 91 Points
Chalone Pinot Noir is always notable for its distinctive earthy undercurrents and in 2019 these form the backdrop for aromas of dry Michigan cherry, dark red berry, red plum, mulling spice, pink rose and dried orange peel. It is medium-bodied, elegantly complex and delivers evolving flavors that include Michigan cherry, red plum, red berry, mulling spice, dry red and pink rose, orange peel tea, toasted oak and star anise, all poised above that signature earthiness. The finish is food-worthy and lingering and the wine should grow in depth over the next few years. 2025 cases made.
